The Brick Township council on Tuesday night approved a $762,954 contract to repave a number of roads in the Woodland Valley development in the township’s Herbertsville section.

The contract was awarded to Meco Inc., of Clarksburg, Monmouth County. Meco had the low bid on the project, township attorney Kevin Starkey said.

The contract calls for the reconstruction, milling and overlay of Winding River Road, Manasquan Court, Winding River Court, Albermarle Road and Hill Drive.

Generally, township officials have said, roadwork gets underway about a month after a contract is awarded following a pre-construction meeting.

    What about Herbertsville Rd .

    • Hi Susan – Herbertsville is a county road, so that would be part of the county’s road maintenance plan rather than the township’s. I can ask some county officials if there are any road projects in Brick coming up.

About time they did this. I liked it when the township did it themselves through the DPW before Accropolis ruined the township.
