Brick firefighters extinguished a fire on a boat at Traders Cove Marina early Sunday evening, officials said.
The boat was dry docked at the marina, said Kevin Batzel, director of the Brick Bureau of Fire Safety. Firefighters from Brick Township Fire District 1, which consists of the Breton Woods and Pioneer Hose fire companies, responded to the call after 5:30 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, Batzel said, they found a fire in the interior of the dry-docked boat.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. Officials are still in the process of contacting the owner of the boat. The fire itself remains under investigation. There were no injuries, Batzel said.
