Brick to Hold Veterans Day Ceremony Tuesday Morning

Brick Township will honor its veterans Tuesday during a Veterans Day ceremony held at the township municipal complex on Chambers Bridge Road.

Brick Township veterans’ organizations, including VFW Post 8867 and American Legion Post 348, and municipal officials will gather for the ceremony at 11 a.m. in the flag/monument area at the complex, which is located at 401 Chambers Bridge Road.

The event is open to the public.

Additionally, municipal offices will be closed on Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day and all Public Works collections will be postponed one day for the remainder of the week.

    Why are Brick public schools Open on Veterans Day and Columbus day? These are both Federal Holiday’s that are part of traditional American culture.
    Is it because the schools have to close for Jewish religious holy days like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?
    What ever happened to separation of church and state?
    Are Jewish Holy days more important to Brick Township citizens than traditional American Federal Holidays?

    Holmdel schools are Closed for Chinese New Year, but they are Open for U.S. Veterans Day. Holmdel is not in EFFEN China! I guess someone in Holmdel school system is still mad that we beat back the Chinese in the Korean War.

    Why does the US celebrate other countries holidays and Holy days? Mexico doesn’t celebrate the 4th of July, but we celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
