A Brick man has been charged with robbing a gas station attendant at knifepoint on Christmas Eve.
Patrick J. Dalesandro, 38, of Cottonwood Drive, was arrested and charged with the robbery. He was identified through video surveillance and an active investigation conducted by Detectives Robert Shepherd, Gregory Mullarkey, and Thomas Cooney, Sgt. Henry Drew said.
In the Dec. 24, 2014 robbery, officers were called to the Shell station on Lanes Mill Road at 8:30 p.m. When they arrived, an attendant told the officers that a man robbed him by knifepoint after he pumped gas in his vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed quantity of money in an older Honda Civic.
The victim described the suspect as a white male, unshaven brown facial hair, approximately 5-09 to 5-10, heavyset, wearing a light colored bandanna.
Dalesandro has been charged with first degree armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Bail was set by the Municipal Court Judge Robert Lepore at $300,000 cash. Dalesandro was transported to the Ocean County Jail.
