Brick Township will host its annual Green Fair in April this year, organizers told Shorebeat this week.
After several years of holding the event after Labor Day, this year’s will be held in the spring – specifically, April 18. The event will also get a new location in Brick Township High School.
The event is jointly organized by the Sustainable Brick Committee, the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority, the Brick Township Recreation Department and the Brick Township Environmental and Tourist Development Commissions.
Conceived five years ago, the Green Fair will feature dozens of local “green” businesses and organizations. It will also feature healthy refreshments, interactive displays, activities for all ages and entertainment. Scheduled participants include the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Ocean County, the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge and Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 16-05.
Organizers are also planning crafts, featured local businesses and information on sustainable energy.
The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at Brick Township High School.
