Brick police said Thursday that the help they received from the public as well as the Lakewood and Point Pleasant Beach police departments assisted them in capturing a suspect wanted for the Feb. 28 burglary of a Stephan Road home.

Jason M. Pascale, 34, of Ridge Road in Lakewood, was arrested Wednesday – four days after police released surveillance photos and video showing Pascale trying to break into a home on Stephan Road. Another video showed the same suspect being chased by a neighbor, whose home he is also alleged to have tried to break into. That person said he was stabbed with an unknown object during the altercation.

“The many tips that were received again demonstrate the importance of the police- citizen relationship, and the Brick Township Police Department would like to thank everyone that called in to assist,” Sgt. Henry Drew said.

Pascale was charged with robbery, burglary and theft of movable property, Drew said. He was being lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, according to Deputy Court Administrator Donna Morra.

In addition, Drew said, Pascale had an active warrant for violation of probation issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court, and failure to appear warrants issued by the Brick Township municipal court and the Ocean Township (Monmouth County) municipal court.

Additional charges are expected to be lodged against Pascale after review of the case by the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Drew said.
