Brick’s Jersey Paddler store will host its annual Paddlesport show starting this Friday at the Garden State Expo Center in Somerset, the store announced this week.
Paddlesport 2015 is the east coast’s largest kayak, canoe, kayak fishing and stand-up paddling show, said John Durrua, owner of the Jersey Paddler.
The show will run March 27-29, 2015 and give lifelong paddlers and newcomers to paddle sports a chance to explore the latest and greatest in paddling products, discover new skills and techniques in innovative lectures and clinics, and browse the show’s exhibitors to find great deals on kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards.
Over 100 vendors and manufacturers will be featured at Paddlesport 2015, with special attention being given this year to both kayak fishing and stand-up paddleboarding, two sports which have exploded in popularity in recent years. Families can explore kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddling, and learn how they can take part in these affordable and exciting activities close to home.
There will be in-show pool demonstrations of kayak rescues, paddling for anglers, yoga basics for stand-up paddleboarders, and “kids in kayaks.” Seminars include essential skills for stand-up paddlers, choosing the perfect paddle, great kayaking opportunities in New Jersey, and padding in the surf zone.
The show takes place March 27 from 12 noon to 9 p.m., March 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and March 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Garden State Expo Center is located at 50 Atrium Drive, Somerset. Cost is $10 for adults and free to children below 18. For more information, visit the Jersey Paddler website.
