Brick officials are seeking bids for the latest round of road improvements in the Lake Riviera section of town, as well as numerous other streets throughout the township.

Known as “phase two” of a multi-phase project to mill and pave roadways and repair drainage in Lake Riviera, the council is seeking bids to improve Essex Drive, Georgia Drive, Heritage Drive, Pine Tree Drive, Oklahoma Drive, Virginia Drive and Texas Drive.

The township is also seeking bids for road improvements and drainage improvements at the intersection of Boom Lane and Port Road, North Lake Shore Drive at the intersection of Lafayette Drive, Pleasant Drive (at South Pier), and Hulse Landing Road, which will receive drainage improvements along its entire length.

No contract has been awarded for the improvements, though they have been funded by the township council and are now out to bid.

Great because it seems that Georgia Drive was forgotten in the paving project two years ago and the street from Pine Tree to Vermont is like a roller coaster ride with hills and craters.

As a fellow Georgia Dr resident, I have to agree. The road between Virginia and Essex is horrible, there are more patches than actual original pavement, and the patches are all sunken now. If you drive faster than -3mph, you will bottom out your car. I’d rather drive over the speed tables than my own disaster of a street. And due to the way the road is graded on the block, having a higher elevation on each end, and lower in the middle, combined with no storm drains, makes for flooding whenever it rains.
