The Joe Canal’s liquor store at the corner of Route 70 and Chambers Bridge Road is becoming a Buy Rite liquor store.

The township council on May 5 approved a resolution transferring the license from Danalex Group – which operated the Joe Canal’s store – to RJS Tech, Inc., which will operate the store as a Buy Rite liquor store location.

The transfer came with no objections.

Joe Canal’s operates 15 locations throughout New Jersey, all but two in the southern half of the state. Buy Rite, through its franchisees, operates numerous stores throughout the state, including two in Brick – one on Mantoloking Road and one on Burnt Tavern Road.

This is strange, I thought Canal’s was a big chain and I wonder if this is an indicator of any financial problems they are having. The store is difficult to get to and perhaps we have too many liquor stores as it is.

3 BuyRites in Bricktucky. Looks like BuyRite knows how to make money in Bricktucky during a Depression.
