Chipotle, a chain of Mexican eateries, will add a Brick location in the coming months, company officials confirmed.

An opening date has not yet been determined, but the location is planned for Brick Plaza adjacent to the Men’s Wearhouse store in the front portion of the shopping center.

Company officials are putting the finishing touches on their plans to open, which included a hearing before the township’s Board of Adjustment July 1 where the restaurant requested the ability to place two lighted signs on its exterior instead of just one as required by township zoning codes.

The company has also launched a website recruiting employees to staff the upcoming location.

The wildly-popular chain, which offers customers made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos and salads, operates more than 1,700 locations across the United States and in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Customers order by approaching a counter, where they are met by employees who make the food items to order. Chipotle offers chicken, pork carnitas, barbacoa, steak and “sofritas,” a tofu-based option, with all its menu items.

Chipotle’s current local restaurants are located on Hooper Avenue in Toms River and Route 35 in Wall Township.

I have been here many many years and I would like to know WHY THERE IS NOT A WHITE CASTLE HERE

    • White Castle had an application before the planning board about five years ago but eventually withdrew it, saying they rethought the location and wanted to choose another spot in town. The location they had been considering was where the Investors Bank was built adjacent to Buffalo Wild Wings. To the best of my knowledge, they have not put in any new applications to build in Brick.

    • SoWhat?

Because when the locals are constipated and want diarrhea , they just go to Taco Bell. Up north they go to White Castle.

White Castle is the lowest of all these places. This chain in the article can be a bit pricy, about 9 to 10 dollars a meal.

Has anyone ever actually seen a Mexican or a Hispanic of any type working in a Chipotle? Anywhere, any State? It seems like they are all white just like the Starbucks employees. Now take Carrabbas for example, all latino cooks and kitchen help making Italian food.
