Police say a man robbed the Lukoil gas station near the border of Brick and Toms River at knifepoint Monday at 10:33 a.m., and the perpetrator is still on the loose.

According to Toms River police spokesman Ralph Stocco, an unknown white male walked up behind the attendant at the Hooper Avenue station in Silverton, who at the time was changing the receipt paper in one of the gas pumps, and made a verbal demand for money.  The attendant gave him an undetermined amount of cash, at which point the man demanded more money.

When the attendant told him he had none, the man produced a knife – possibly a folding pocket type – in his right hand and slashed the attendant thru the front of his shirt, Stocco said. The attendant then turned away and the male slashed him again on his left arm.

The wounds were superficial and required minor attention with no hospitalization, Stocco said. After the Robbery the suspect fled on foot in a northerly direction on Hinds Road, which parallels Hooper Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male with a fair complexion, approximately 25-30 years old and clean shaven.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white tee shirt, white shorts, and a blue ball cap, Stocco said.

He has a medium build and is possibly around 6 feet tall.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Robert O’Neill at 732-249-0150, Ext. 1255.
