The Brick Township Historical Society will hold its first meeting of the new season on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Herbertsville Firehouse.
Nick Rakoncka of Toms River will speak about the Toms River Blockhouse Fight, according to Jane Fabach of the club. Rakoncka will cover why the British attacked the town during the American Revolution, the capture and hanging of Captain Joshua Huddy and how the incident impacted the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
