Firefighters from the Herbertsville Fire Company battled a blaze that consumed a home on Deer Path, a tiny street off Tanager Way in the Herbertsville section, Sunday night.

The three-alarm blaze consumed the sole home on the street, which backs up to the Manasquan River. At one point during the fire, the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority was called to boost water pressure in the area.

All of Brick’s fire companies, as well as the Silverton, Ramtown and Point Pleasant Beach companies, responded.

So sorry to hear of this, hope no one was hurt.
The fire company can come over to Beverly Beach and practice by burning down the vacant derelict house at 126 South Beverly. Before vandals or vagrants do.

When ever there’s a fire in town, I look up the address on Google Earth street view to give me more of an idea of where the fire is. The street view of this home showed the whole entire house roof covered in solar panels along with the garage. There is another picture of this house on fire on Brick Shorebeat and it shows the roof and solar panels blazing away with what looks like flames billowing out an attic vent BUT no flames showing from the second story windows. That seemed odd to me.Did the solar panel system start this fire? If it turns out the experts say yes, then the idea that I’ve been entertaining which is to put solar up won’t be happening.

No. It started as a chimney fire.
