Ocean County Library Branches to Offer ‘Obamacare’ Information Sessions

Whether someone is uninsured or just wants to explore their options, the Ocean County Library will continue hosting a number of information sessions on the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as “Obamacare.”

Ocean County Library has partnered with three groups to assist people check if they are eligible for the ACA healthcare plans and find the best policy to fit their needs and budget, the library said in a recent announcement.

The deadline for coverage to begin Jan. 1 has already passed (it was Dec. 15), but enrollment continues through Jan. 31 for coverage to begin in the weeks following the new year.

The information sessions will be provided by The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Ocean Health Initiatives and The Family Resource Network.

To see if you are qualified for reduced premiums bring the following information to your appointment:

  • Home and mailing addresses for everyone applying
  • Social Security numbers or document information for lawfully present residents
  • Employer and income information for every member of your household and your best estimate of what your household income will be in 2016
  • If you had coverage in 2015, policy numbers for any current health insurance or household members and notices from your current plan that includes your plan ID
  • Information about job-based insurance for which you or anyone in your household is eligible.
