Authorities have arrested a Lakewood man who they accuse of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl multiple times.
Antonio Aguilar, 41, was arrested Tuesday. The case was initiated, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Al Della Fave said, when the 11-year-old female victim reported to her teacher that she was sexually assaulted by the suspect “numerous times.”
The investigation was conducted by the prosecutor’s office and Lakewood police detectives, with assistance from state Division of Child Protection & Permanency Caseworker Juan Barrera, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit Det. Mike Senger and Ocean County Prosecutor Sgt. Jason Steele.
The assaults were found to have committed over a period of multiple years, Della Fave said.
Aguilar was behind held in lieu of $250,000 cash bail. He is charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
