The Brick Township Rotary Club is sponsoring a special event to raise funds that will be used to purchase body armor for Brick Township police officers.
The 32nd annual event, the Bullet Proof Vest Fund Dance, will be held on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Adamston Road in Brick. Music will be by The Infernos, and there will be a hot and cold buffet with a cash bar. Donation is $30 per person and advance ticket purchase is suggested. To purchase tickets, or for additional information, please call 908.910.2912 or icfeet@tellurian.com.
The Vest Fund began in late 1970s, with the first dance held in 1985. To date, over $750,000 has been raised and every officer, including the police dogs, is vested. The Rotary Club also purchased equipment which was used during Superstorm Sandy to help with rescues on the barrier island.
