A Brick Township physician has been charged with inappropriately touching one of his patients, authorities announced Wednesday.

Dr. Alfred B. Parchment, 53, allegedly touched a patient inappropriately following an examination at Brick Women’s Physicians, Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a prepared statement.

Parchment, a Toms River resident, was charged following an investigation by Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit Detective Alex Bromley and Brick Township Police Department Detective Dan Waleski.

Under New Jersey statutes, Parchment was charged with harassment, a disorderly persons offense – similar to what is considered a misdemeanor in most states. Parchment was released on a summons to appear in Brick Municipal Court on a future date, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.

The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners was notified of the charge.

Parchment was no longer employed at his office, a person who answered the phone there said.

All examinations should be performed in the presence of a qualified nurse in order to protect both patient and doctor.

What if the Doctor is a woman and the nurse is a man?
      It’s 2016, not 1946.

Ah, there’s that good old transphobia that you right wing scum bags keep trotting out. You realize you just humiliate yourselves, right?

      • KaayC

I never stated the gender of a nurse or doctor, so the bias is in your mind! Gender is irrelevant. There should be a second person there to witness. Most ethical practices adhere to this policy.

Did he own any part of the place where he worked?

  • Meave Sickles

Dr Parchment has been my doctor for five years and has never been anything but professional. He’s one of the most caring and sweetest man I’ve ever met. I went out of my way to have him deliver my children, traveling to Ocean county while I live in Monmouth county. I’m more than positive this accusation is false.

  • Kelly

Dr. Parchment has been my doctor for at least 13-14 years. He has always been a gentlemen and completely professional. I always referred to him as a gentle giant. There is no way that I believe this BS charge. He’s 53 years old and has been an OBGYN for how many years? So one day he decides he’s going to risk his medical license and marriage? No way! I stand behind him 100%. To the alleged victim – if you are lying (which I believe you are) I hope the karma train runs you over for potentially ruining this man’s life.

    • KaayC

If that is the case it is just awful. It speaks to the point I was trying to make that a third party witness should be there to protect both parties – patient or doctor.

      • Kelly

KaayC, A female nurse was always in the room when I was examined. In fact, Dr. Parchment always knocked on the door (to make sure I was in my gown) before he ever entered the room. I believe the alleged victim is looking for money or seeking some sort of revenge. Once his name is cleared, I will return as a patient and I would have no problem taking my teenage daughter to him if she was in need of care.

Dan the editor, why do you let JW keep posting? Are there no standards or guidelines?

    • J W

You should replace JW with “me and Frank Rizzo”. I’ve been asking the same about you two vile, hate-filled bigots for a long time.

  • KaayC

To Kelly: If there was a witness then, hopefully the truth will prevail.

  • Goodgrief

Daniel you have a nice classy publication here. JW’s guttural language detracts from your efforts a lot. I understand political bickering but his choice of offensive wordage should be eliminated. Make him stop with the offensive sexual terms if he wants to continue to post on your site. Thank you.

    • J W

This is slander. I never make an ‘offensive sexual’ terms. Pure gibberish. The only thing offensive around here is the blatant racism you people peddle in. You’re just mad because I call you on it. This is the problem with this institutionally racist country- you white folks just won’t admit it and would rather blame black people for everything.

      • Trump for President

JW, youre a white liberal female. Quit the charade or I will tell everyone your real name. Get it. Your husband and the democrat club will not be happy.

      • J W

I don’t know why you hate Vera Fozman so much, but you really need to get over it. I ain’t her and have no idea why you have such an unhealthy obsession with her. It’s rather dangerous. I’d say the police should be involved at this point.

      • Trump for President

        ? ? I never mentioned any names. Yet !

      • J W

You’ve been saying that for years numnuts as if it’s some kind of insult. Are you really that dense that you can’t remember? Sounds like Alzheimers coming on. You ought to worry about that.

I am one of Dr.Partchment’s patient, I been his patient for over 10 years. Dr. Partchment is a nice, kind person. As a doctor he’s dedicated to his work. When I always went for my examination he always had a female nurse present with him in the room. And not once he did of what he is accused of. I feel that what’s going on is not true. And I just lost a very good doctor.
