Brick Township was declared “Football Town USA” Monday, and the day would not have been complete with the township’s own football legend, Warren Wolf.
Wolf took part in the festivities, which included a visit from New York Giants Star Victor Cruz, who came to Brick to meet students, players and coaches after the school won an online competition to score the pro visit.
“With this town’s rich tradition in football, and this high school specifically, I think they were perfect winners for this award,” said Cruz to WOBM’s sports reporters, who covered the event.”
Cruz also took a moment to meet with Wolf, the winningest football coach in New Jersey history who retired in 2008 after leading the BTHS Dragons for 51 seasons.
The recognition as “Football Town USA” goes toward helping school and community spirit, organizers said.
