Police are investigating a threat written on a bathroom wall at Veterans Memorial Middle School in Brick.
Sgt. Neal Pedersen, the department’s spokesman, did not elaborate on exactly when the threat was found or what it may have said in a statement sent to the press, but said police were on the scene “in a precautionary and investigatory capacity.”
“All students are safe and secure at this time,” Pedersen said, and officers will remain at the school all day.
A parent who contacted Shorebeat said students had their bags searched as they got off school buses this morning.
Shorebeat will have an update as soon as details become known.
