Power outages primarily affecting Brick Township have been linked to a voltage issue at a JCP&L substation, officials tell Shorebeat.

According to the utility’s outage map, more than 1,500 customers are affected in numerous areas of the township. Smaller outages have been reported in Toms River and some areas of the barrier island, including most of Lavallette.

The company said power is expected to be restored by 4:30 p.m.
