A project to build a large garage at Brick Township’s Drum Point Sports Complex is on hold.
Township council members rejected bids received for the project because they were too high. The project called for the construction of a 4,500 square foot storage building. The building would have been made of wood with metal siding and a concrete floor. It would have included industrial garage doors and electric.
Council President Art Halloran said 11 bids were received, ranging from $336,869 to $518,936.
“Unfortunately, the bids substantially exceeded our appropriation for this project and will most likely be put on hold until next year’s capital budget review,” Halloran said.
