The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Ocean County and surrounding counties until 9 p.m. Saturday, the NWS’s Mount Holly office announced.
A line of storms was moving in from the west that could produce winds up to 40 m.p.h. plus small hail and frequent lightning. The storms should occur mainly before midnight, the weather service said, though mostly cloudy skies overnight will give way to a sunny Sunday with a high of 77 and wind out of the north around 11 m.p.h.
