A beach sweep is being held at Brick Beach I this Saturday, part of a coast-wide effort by Clean Ocean Action to keep the Shore’s beaches free of litter and debris.

In Brick, the beach sweep is being sponsored by Baine Contracting, a residential contracting and construction company based in town.

“This is our third Beach Sweep and at each event we’ve seen greater response and growing participation,” said Michael Baine, founder and president of Baine Contracting. “The response from our subcontractors, partners, clients, friends and family continues to inspire us. We’re grateful for the opportunity to return and clean up Brick Beach once again.”

The beach sweep is coordinated by Clean Ocean Action, hands out cleaning materials and logs items collected. The data derived from the collection logs are ultimately used in an annual, coast-wide report on beach cleanliness that is put out by the organization.

The public is encouraged to participate by arriving at Brick Beach 1 on Saturday, Oct. 25 between 8:45 and 9 a.m. The cleanup effort starts at 9 a.m. and is expected to end at approximately between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing, including sunscreen and hard-soled shoes. Free t-shirts, coffee, water and donuts and other refreshments will be available.

Brick Beach 1 is located at 310 Route 35 North in Brick.
