Lakewood police are investigating the robbery of two people who were sitting in a car on a township street Tuesday night.
Officer Joe Przewoznick was dispatched to a reported robbery on Astor Drive at about 10 p.m., police said in a statement. Upon arrival, the officer met with a man identified as a 32-year-old Brick resident who reported that while he and a female friend were sitting in his car, they were approached by two unidentified black males, one of whom grabbed him through his open window. The man was described as being dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt.
The victim told police that after a brief struggle he was removed from the car and pushed to the ground. At that point, police said, the suspect put, what the victim believed to be a gun to the back of his head as the second male, dressed in dark jeans and a dark sweatshirt, ransacked his car asking for money.

An Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit responded to try and locate the fleeing suspects. However, it was unsuccessful, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Mike Cavallo or Officer Andre Nickens at 732-363-0200 ext. 5317.
