Snowy, Cold Winter Ahead? Meteorologist Explains Outlook in Clear, Concise Way

There’s been a lot of talk about whether the upcoming winter will be a repeat of last year’s record cold temperatures and frequent snowstorms, or a bit more mild and palatable for those of us who are more sensitive to the chill of winter.

The NOAA released its forecast earlier this fall, but wouldn’t commit to an outlook for the northeastern United States. Now that some more data on sea surface temperatures and the breadth of El Niño has been gleaned, the forecast is becoming a bit more clear. Last night, meteorologist Cecily Tynan from 6ABC explained her outlook in a way we think spells things out very clearly, including a forecast for the Jersey Shore area.
