Toppled Crane at Point Beach Dock Sends Man to Hospital

A man was taken to a trauma center after a crane toppled in Point Pleasant Beach on Monday.

The crane was lifting a clam dredge at the dock at 301 Channel Drive when it overturned, Jerry Meaney, a Point Pleasant EMT, posted on a social media page he runs.

One person was injured in the accident and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. The crane operator was thrown to the ground, Meaney said.

There was no word on the condition of the man who was injured.
