Brick’s zoning maps will now be easier to read – in living color.
The township council passed an ordinance on first reading this week to adopt the revised maps to reflect the change, a product of many hours of work by township employees who were tasked with converting the entirety of Brick’s landscape from hard-to-read black and white to full color.
“As technology has advanced, it makes it easier for members of the public and builders to read them,” said Township Planner Mike Fowler.

The new maps will come in extra handy with so many people in town rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy, officials said. In addition to being designated by letter and number, all zones are color coded
The maps will be available online and at town hall after a second reading of the ordinance and a public hearing, Fowler said.
