Students Evacuated From Drum Point School After Electrical Fire

Students at Drum Point Elementary School were evacuated Tuesday due to an electrical fire, officials said.

The students were returning to school at 1:20 p.m. after smoke was cleared from the building. The evacuation took place at 12:55, Brick Police Sgt. Henry Drew said.

The exact cause of the fire was not immediately clear. No one was injured, Drew said.

During the evacuation, the students were taken to Emma Havens Young Elementary, which is located next door.
