A Brick man is facing a charge of aggravated sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl, authorities said Tuesday.
Samuel Holdbrook, 28, was arrested Monday by Brick Township Police Detective James Burgess and Ocean County Special Victims Unit Detective Stephanie Bayha on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Prosecutors allege that Holdbrook sexually assaulted a 12-year-old female victim sometime between January and February 2014. The victim was someone who was familiar to Holdbrook, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.

Holdbrook was arrested at approximately 8:30 p.m. at Brick Township Police headquarters after the investigating detectives secured the necessary evidence to support the charge, Della Fave said. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson set bail $250,000 cash. Nicole’s Law, ordering Holdbrook have no contact with the victim, was implemented.
Holdbrook is being lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail, Della Fave said.
