Brick police say a township man was stabbed during a confrontation with a burglary suspect.
Police are currently investigating the incident, which took place Saturday afternoon at about 4 p.m. in the area of Stephen Road and Burnt Tavern Road, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said.
A homeowner, Pedersen said, confronted a burglar at which point the suspect stabbed him in the leg with an unknown object. The suspect then fled in a dark colored, medium-sized sport utility vehicle with a NJ partial tag of “Y8L-.” The vehicle was described as having white or chrome on the bottom portion. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s, with a thin build, approximately 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 in height.
Anyone who can identify the suspect or the vehicle is being asked to call Detective Barnes at 732-262-4611 or, for immediate assistance, the main police number at 732-262-1100.
