Detectives have charged a Lakewood man with child endangerment stemming from an alleged incident where the man engaged in sexual conduct with a 6-year-old girl.

Carl A. Creadle, 47, is charged with second degree endangering the welfare of a child, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. Creadle was arrested at about 3 a.m. Sunday by Lakewood Police Officer Edgardo Vega Jr. and Ocean County Prosecutor Special Victims Unit Det. Jason Steele.

Creadle was arrested following an investigation that began after the alleged sexual conduct was witnessed by an individual who was residing in the victim’s home. That person then notified the victim’s parents. Creadle knew the victim in the case, authorities said.
