Brick Dragons Head Football Coach Steps Down

Brick Township High School Dragons head football coach Rob Dahl has stepped down, school officials confirmed to Shorebeat on Friday.

Dahl, a former player under legendary coach Warren Wolf, took over following a tumultuous few seasons with former coach Patrick Dowling, who was Wolf’s initial replacement. Under Dahl’s leadership, the Dragons to the Central Jersey Group IV title in 2013 and the Class A South top spot this past season.



Dahl told the Shore Sports Network website that he is stepping down to be able to spend more time with his family after achieving his goal of putting Brick football “back on the map.”

Several players from the 2014 season spoke about Dahl on social media Friday.

“Thanks to Coach Dahl for being a huge part in making us the men we are today,” said Ja’Quez Johnson, a standout player.

“As we express gratitude we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them,” star quarterback Carmen Sclafani posted, in reference to the coach.
