Brick Township police confirmed Monday that they are investigating a report of child luring near the Drum Point Sports Complex off Drum Point Road, and a man matching the description of a potential suspect is known to officers. Police, however, are now asking any victims to come forward since none have been located.
Police received a call at about 11 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious male who was asking juveniles if they “needed a ride,” “where they lived,” and “if they wanted cigarettes,” said Sgt. Henry Drew.
Officers arrived on scene and checked the area, Drew said, eventually locating a man who matched the description of the suspicious male.

“The Brick Township Police Department is familiar with the subject, but would like to speak with anyone who may have come into direct contact with him,” Drew said.
The complaint was received by the department through a third party, Drew explained, and investigators have been unable to speak with anyone who was directly approached by the suspect.
The investigation is continuing, and patrols of the area have been increased in the area, said Drew.
Anyone who has had contact with the suspect – or knows anyone who has – is being asked to contact Detective James Burgess in the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-262-1115. The Brick Police Department can also be contacted directly at 732-262-1100.
