Several thousand electrical customers were out of power temporarily Sunday night following an incident at a Jersey Central Power & Light substation in Brick.
At about 8:10 p.m., a JCP&L wire came into contact with other wires serving customers in Brick Township, causing the wires to come down, said Ron Morano, a company spokesman.
When this occurred some customers may have lost power for just a few seconds. The outage from the downed wires affected about 1,780 customers. By 9 p.m., 1,034 were restored, and 44 minutes later the remaining 745 were restored.
