Authorities are investigating a shooting death that occurred in South Toms River Monday night, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday morning.
Toms River police were called to Community Medical Center at 10:55 p.m. Monday night for a report of a man with a gunshot wound, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. The victim, Wille Z. Love III, 27, of Bayville, was pronounced dead at 11:27 p.m. at the hospital.
The responding Officers notified OCPO Major Crimes Unit Det. John Carroll and OC Sheriff’s Department CSI who responded as part of the continuing investigation.
Preliminary information obtained in the investigation, Della Fave said, indicates the incident had taken place in South Toms River. Detectives from the local police department, the prosecutor’s office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
Della Fave said no other information on the shooting could be released.
