Chipotle, a chain of Mexican eateries, will add a Brick location in the coming months, company officials confirmed.
An opening date has not yet been determined, but the location is planned for Brick Plaza adjacent to the Men’s Wearhouse store in the front portion of the shopping center.
Company officials are putting the finishing touches on their plans to open, which included a hearing before the township’s Board of Adjustment July 1 where the restaurant requested the ability to place two lighted signs on its exterior instead of just one as required by township zoning codes.

The company has also launched a website recruiting employees to staff the upcoming location.
The wildly-popular chain, which offers customers made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos and salads, operates more than 1,700 locations across the United States and in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Customers order by approaching a counter, where they are met by employees who make the food items to order. Chipotle offers chicken, pork carnitas, barbacoa, steak and “sofritas,” a tofu-based option, with all its menu items.
Chipotle’s current local restaurants are located on Hooper Avenue in Toms River and Route 35 in Wall Township.
