Sparks, a dragon-like creature that is the mascot for the Ocean County Library, will be replicated in the form of a plush doll which will be available at all branches of the county library system later this month.

The stuffed toys will first be introduced at the Toms River and Lavallette branches first. Sparks’ first Special Delivery will begin 10 a.m. Friday, July 24th at the Toms River branch. The second Special Delivery will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 29th at the Upper Shores branch, 112 Jersey City Ave, Lavallette as the branch also celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Sparks attends library programs and has delighted thousands of fans at local events, parades and schools for ten years. Sparks “spreads his enthusiasm for the library to a county-wide fan base of young and old and promotes the library every chance he gets,” a news release from the library system said.
