Brick Police Chief Bergquist to Retire Dec. 1

After 39 years in law enforcement, 35 of which were with the Brick Township Police Department, Brick Police Chief Nils R. Bergquist announced that he will retire on Dec. 1, 2015.

Brick police released the following statement:



Chief Bergquist is grateful to the people of Brick for all their support over the years.

“It is truly a great community to work for.” Chief Bergquist said.

The Chief recognized the incredible support of the mayor, the township council, and all the township employees, which he described as a great team.

Chief Bergquist said “Mostly, I thank the men and women of the department for their hard work and dedication.” “They are the finest Police Officers and people you will find anywhere.” “My career has been incredibly rewarding.” “I looked forward to coming to work everyday.”

“My wife Donna and I plan on staying in Brick, the place we love so much.”
