The twelfth storm of the 2015 hurricane season formed Sunday and is expected to take a turn out to sea, the National Hurricane Center predicted.
The storm is currently a tropical depression, but will likely become a named storm Monday.
“The depression is forecast to move northwestward [Sunday night], then turn north-northwestward and northward on Monday and Monday night while it moves around the western portion of a low- to mid-level ridge overthe west-central Atlantic,” a forecast discussion from the hurricane center said.
The northeastward path of the storm was expected to accelerate by Tuesday. The track of the storm was agreed-upon by most forecast models, the agency said.
