Ocean County authorities arrested a Toms River man stemming from his online activities involving a 14-year-old girl with whom he was acquainted.
Christopher Kaleda, 39, was arrested and charged with a single count of fourth degree attempted criminal sexual contact, one count of third degree child endangerment, and one count of third degree distribution of obscene materials to a minor, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
The arrest, authorities said, stems from a referral from the Beachwood Police Department to the prosecutor’s office’s High Tech Crime Unit reporting that Kaleda allegedly was having inappropriate conversations with the teen, with whom he was familiar. County detectives conducted an undercover investigation which led to the charges.
Ocean County Superior Court Judge James M. Blaney set bail at $30,000 cash and implemented Nicole’s Law, prohibiting any contact with the victim.
