A rescheduled meeting of the Brick Township Board of Education will be held Thursday night at Brick Memorial High School instead of Brick Township High School.
The meeting is the first regular meeting of the board in 2016, and comes one week after a newly-reorganized board voted to oust numerous district professionals in the so-called “Thursday Night Massacre” last week.
Since last week, the district has publicly posted a help wanted ad seeking resumes for an interim superintendent. At the Jan. 7 meeting of the board, four new board members voted in favor of instructing attorney Nicholas Montenegro to investigate “options to terminate” suspended superintendent Walter Uszenski’s contract with the district. Richard Caldes has been serving as superintendent on an interim basis since Uszenski was charged with theft and official misconduct last spring.
