Brick Township has advised residents in “low-lying and flood-prone areas” to voluntarily evacuate for the duration of the oncoming nor’easter in which moderate to major coastal flooding is expected.

According to the township, residents of these areas are reminded that they can relocate vehicles to the parking areas of the Drum Point Sports Complex, Hibbard Youth Baseball Complex (56 Tiller Lane) and Boland Youth Baseball Complex (2000 Lanes Mill Road) for the duration of the storm.

These areas will be cleared of snow once all streets are cleared. Residents will also need to be prepared to clear snow from around their vehicles after the storm.

Conditions, a statement from the township said, are expected to be hazardous throughout Saturday. Residents are urged to remain indoors and avoid driving. “Snow removal is a time-consuming task and residents are asked to please be patient,” the statement said.

The township will be operating a call center for snow related calls from 9am until 9pm tomorrow. The phone number is 732-262-1234. Please do not call 911 or the Brick Township Police Department for snow related calls. That is for emergencies only.
