A man was found dead in his car at the Ocean County Mall on Monday, though authorities say they do not suspect foul play in his death.

Ocean County Mall Security Officers were alerted to a vehicle in the parking lot in which the occupant was unresponsive at about 12:20 p.m., said Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco.

“Police and EMS responded and determined that the man was deceased,” Stocco said in an e-mail. “There were no obvious signs of trauma and there is no reason to believe that foul play was involved.”

The deceased man was found inside a 2014 Toyota that was parked near Boscov’s Department Store, Stocco said. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.

“It appears that the man was a Toms River resident who has been struggling with depression and medical issues,” said Stocco.

The man, whose name was not released publicly, was reported missing April 22.
