Temperatures in the 80s Tuesday, including on the barrier island, may give way to thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
All of Ocean County is included in the watch, which calls for the potential of severe thunderstorms that could include “locally damaging winds and large hail.”
There is a 30 percent chance of a storm during the afternoon and a 60 percent chance of a storm at night, the NWS’s forecast said. Between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., isolated showers will linger, then it will turn mostly cloudy, with a low around 46 degrees.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, but with a high of just 56, the forecast said. Highs will remain in the 50s for the remainder of the week.
