Brick police are trying to track down the owner of a 1969 Formula that was found floating, abandoned and stripped of its engine and mechanical components near the Glenwood Avenue boat ramp last month.

The department’s marine unit said in a statement that a small pick up truck pulled up to the ramp April 17 and set the boat adrift into the Metedeconk River. The vessel, a yellow 23-foot 1969 Formula, drifted in the area until it partially submerged at the ramp.

Attempts to locate the owner of the vessel are ongoing, police said.

The Marine Unit is asking the public’s help in locating the owner. Anyone with information should contact Ptl. Heschle of the Brick Police Department at 732-262-1100 if they have seen this vessel in their neighborhood or may know who owns it.
