A 17-year-old Brick girl told police a man repeatedly tried to lure her into taking a ride in his car after she exited a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 12:35 p.m., said Sgt. Neal Pedersen, at the intersection of Silverton Road and Linden Avenue.

According to police, a man driving a black Cadillac sedan – possibly 2005 or newer – approached the girl asking if she needed a ride.  The girl told him no and he again asked if she was sure she did not need a ride. Again, she stated no. The girl saw her neighbor outside his residence, and told the male driver that the man was her uncle, at which point the driver pulled away towards Hooper Avenue.

The man was described as a white male, with a full head of gray hair, late 50s to early 60s, average weight, with pock marks (bumps) all over his face. The description of the vehicle given by the neighbor was a black Cadillac, possibly 2005, with New Jersey plates.  The girl told police that she had never seen the suspect male or his vehicle before.

Anyone who has any information on the identity of the driver is being asked to contact 732-262-1100. Detective Tara Schinder is investigating.
