Seaside Heights was voted Ocean County’s favorite beach in an annual survey of New Jersey residents and visitors, but didn’t quite make the top spot in the Garden State.
The annual vote, organized by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, is aimed at promoting tourism in New Jersey while shedding light on the numerous coastal research projects the organization funds each year. Brick’s beaches were included as an option in the survey, but did not place in the results.
Seaside Heights was named the county’s top beach, followed by Point Pleasant Beach, the runner up. Overall, Ocean City was named the favorite beach in New Jersey, followed by Wildwood Crest. Those two towns, naturally, won the top two spots in Cape May County.
Sandy Hook and Asbury Park were the favorite beaches in Monmouth County, and Brigantine and Atlantic City were named the top beaches in Atlantic County.
