A Brick Township physician has been charged with inappropriately touching one of his patients, authorities announced Wednesday.
Dr. Alfred B. Parchment, 53, allegedly touched a patient inappropriately following an examination at Brick Women’s Physicians, Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a prepared statement.
Parchment, a Toms River resident, was charged following an investigation by Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit Detective Alex Bromley and Brick Township Police Department Detective Dan Waleski.

Under New Jersey statutes, Parchment was charged with harassment, a disorderly persons offense – similar to what is considered a misdemeanor in most states. Parchment was released on a summons to appear in Brick Municipal Court on a future date, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners was notified of the charge.
Parchment was no longer employed at his office, a person who answered the phone there said.
