No Injuries in Large Car Fire on Garden State Parkway in Brick

State police told Shorebeat that there were no injuries in a  an incident that involved an SUV turning into a massive fireball on the Garden State Parkwat Thursday morning.

The fire, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. in a Chevrolet TrailBlazer, was reported by a motorist to state troopers, who responded along with local firefighters, said State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn. The fire occurred in the southbound lanes of the Parkway near mile marker 90.

There was no no one in the vehicle at the time it burst into flames and no first responders were injured, said Flynn. The vehicle was towed off the roadway after the fire was extinguished at about 11:40 a.m.
