Brick Mayor John Ducey announced this week that he is seeking to form a township-wide “Snow Corps” made up of volunteers willing to remove snow from driveways and walkways of elderly and disabled residents in town.
“I think we have enough volunteers out there in Brick Township to make this happen,” said Ducey, calling on all “able-bodied men and women” to sign up to help. “We’re eventually going to ask for people in need of these services, but we need to know we have the volunteers first.”
Ducey said the program will only work if a sufficient number of volunteers sign up to help. Residents are welcome to use their snowblowers or good, old-fashioned elbow grease to help.
Anyone who would like to sign up as a volunteer is being asked to call the township at 732-262-4713 to put their name on the list.
